Topmate Payout Guidelines

Created by Topmate Support, Modified on Wed, 21 Oct at 2:01 AM by Topmate Support

Every payout on Topmate is reviewed by our team before it is sent. These guidelines apply to every withdrawal requested from 22 October 2026, 12:00 AM IST.

Indian bank transfers (INR)

  • Every INR withdrawal is processed within 7 days of your request.
  • When you request a withdrawal, the screen shows the date your payout is expected by.
  • Bank downtime or third-party issues can add up to 48 hours after we process your payout.
  • Payouts are delayed on Indian bank holidays, as our banking partners process no settlements on those days.
  • Please wait until your expected date before you raise a query.

International transfers

  • For international bank accounts (anywhere in the world) or PayPal, the payout is processed within 7 business days from the time of request.

For example, if you withdraw ₹300, ₹280 reaches your bank. If you withdraw ₹500, the full ₹500 reaches your bank. If you withdraw USD 8, USD 6 reaches you.

Topmate does not pass the payment gateway’s payout fee on to you.

Why INR payouts take up to 7 days

  • New security guidelines from RBI, NPCI and CERT-In require a person to approve every payout before it is sent.
  • The review window lets us confirm that every transaction is genuine, and stop fraud before money leaves. This keeps payouts moving for genuine creators, instead of pausing them.
  • We get more than 5,000 payout requests a week. A small withdrawal needs the same review as a large one, so withdrawals below the minimum carry a flat fee.

Need a payout sooner?

Write to support@topmate.io from your registered email. Tell us the amount and the date of your request, and we will prioritise it.

First-time withdrawals

  • You can request your first payout once 7 days have passed since your first paid booking. This waiting period lets us complete the necessary verification checks and helps protect the platform against fraud.
  • After that, your first payout follows the same timeline as every other payout: within 7 days for INR, and within 7 business days for international payouts.

Payout review

Every payout request goes through automated checks and is then reviewed by our team before it is sent.

Tips for faster first-time verification

(These are recommendations, not guarantees.)

  • Add your Topmate profile link in the bio or description of your LinkedIn, Twitter or other social profiles.
  • Make sure the name on your Topmate profile matches the name on your bank account or PayPal account.
  • Avoid aliases or fake names on your Topmate profile.

International booking transaction charges

There is no change to INR payments. They continue at the same fixed rate of 2% per transaction.

International (non-INR) payments

We have moved from a flat fee to the actual fees charged by our gateway partners (Stripe and Airwallex).

Fee typeFee applied
Base processing fee2.6% + USD 0.30 per transaction
Collected in SGD, USD, EUR, GBP, CAD or AUD+ 1.5%
Collected in other currencies+ 2%
If an international card is used+ 0.3%

For example, on a €100 (EUR) payment made with an international card, the base fee is €2.60 + $0.30 (about €2.85), plus 1.5% (€1.50), plus 0.3% (€0.30), for a total of about €4.65.

The minimum transaction fee is $1.

GST on Topmate’s fees

GST is charged only on Topmate’s fee, never on your sale price or your earnings.

Topmate’s fee is the small percentage we take from each booking (commission + transaction charge). GST is a tax on that fee alone. Add-ons like recording or AI-Assist already include GST, so nothing changes there.

The rate depends on how the booking was collected:

  • Indian (INR) payments: 18% of our fee
  • International payments (Stripe, Airwallex, PayPal, PayGlocal): 9% of our fee

Example: a ₹1,000 booking (Indian payment)

LineAmount
What your customer pays₹1,000.00
Topmate’s fee (commission + transaction charge)₹120.00
GST, 18% of the ₹120 fee₹21.60

That ₹21.60 is collected by Topmate and paid in full to the government. We keep none of it. In your Payments ledger, the fee is shown with GST already included, alongside the note “Inclusive of GST. Topmate plays no role in government taxes.”

GST number and your monthly tax invoice

If you are GST-registered, add your GST number under Settings > Payments.

At the end of every month, we automatically email a consolidated tax invoice to creators who have added a GST number. It carries your GSTIN, so you can claim this GST back as Input Tax Credit (ITC).

No GST number? No action is needed. GST still applies to our fees and is shown in your ledger, and you can request an invoice anytime by writing to support.
